Getting To Know Your International Contact Part 1

I looked at the CHIP which stands for Childhood Poverty Researched Policy Center whose aim is to deepen understanding of the main causes of childhood poverty cycles, and increase knowledge needed to implement effective strategies to do so.This powerful organization is made up of Save the children, Chronic Poverty research Center (CPRC), with  partners in  China, India, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.

Sadly enough 1 in 4 children world wide live in poverty.

Malnutrition in early childhood can lead to life-long learning difficulties and poor health.

It would take just 1% reduction in world military spending spending to provide primary schooling to all the worlds children.

It is horrifying to know that in South East Asia, more than 90 million children go hungry everyday(UNICEF), and that India has the largest number of working children in the world of which nearly one third are under 16 years old.

We need to stand up, all of us, to end poverty world wide, one mouth at a time until we heal all  people and build a strong future for our world. Backing up and being educated about organizations that make this their goal is a beginning.

  1. I find it hard to hear that children are forced to work in other countries. I read about Kyrgyzstan and found that the area is in such poverty that many children are working, some in very desperate positions. After everything that I have been learning about early childhood, I know how essential early play is to the development of a child. With so much emphasis on working to support the family, these children are missing out on a key developmental stage of their lives as well as education.

  2. Very good post! I am sure there is a lot of children who we do not even know about that go hungry right in our own neighborhood which is sad, and most of the time it is due to parents not wanting to ask for help or to reach out to get help. With these children having to work to help their family they are missing out on a lot of educational needs they need to be able to survive in our real world. we just need to step out of our little box to help who ever is in need.
